Haven't jumped at either as I'm originally from Hampshire way. What's the best place to take the new boy? Don't want to take him into a 2'3" as I think it will be too small but thinking that 2'9" is a nice height especially as he's getting back into fitness.

So, both venues are holding events on 25th November - not sure which one to go to!

that's not a good enough reason for me to go there lol!

Sands farm is alot nearer to me although there's probably not that much in it.

Decisions, decisions!

I would go to Merrist however as it is your first time out I would take him into the smaller class and then if he does well I would go up a level. You said last week you were a bit rusty so why not take it slow and get confidence?

Perhaps rusty was the wrong word - mistrusting I think is better! You have to remember what I've had to deal with the last 6 months! He jumps like a stag so I've no worries on his ability - his whole style is better over a slightly larger jump so I think 2'6" is a good size for us both - not too big, not too small.

I think I might go to Sands - he's been to Merrist before but I'd prefer somewhere a bit quieter so if I want to do a bigger class I don't have to wait for hours....

is it a BSJA show> are you sure you dont want to go unaffiliated for your first outing on him? You havent had him long! Just dont want you to get confidence knock hon when its all going so well - when was the last time you yourself jumped a course of that height, let alone an affiliated one?
