every time i've been (show jumping) i have found the surface worse than being out doors... so rutted, never raked, uneven - i've even fallen over walking the course...
now - merrist wood - that is a lovely well kept indoor surface!!!
wouldn't take a young horse or one with out sure footed ness to Sands - esp if jumping quite high...
I'm not keen on sands farm either. The last time I was there the surface had puddly boggy patches that you had to avoid, and I swear it's the coldest place on earth.
Oh dear ! I have only been there twice beforeonce in summer and to an unaff Evnters challange in september and it wasnt too bad , bit worried about going now, havent jumped in their indoor before! Might reconsider expcially if it is as cold as it is today. Was going to try and qualify for the ameteurs
ahhhhhhh, does not sound two good. i am ment to be going to sands farm this weekend to do the 1.10 AM second round then the 1.20 AM and the horse which is doing his second round can be very picky about his surface's, loves merrist wood, which i can understand= amazing surface, but doesn't seem to jump well on these slightly older uneven surfaces, having second thoughts now.hmmmm
went to sands farm today - yes, was a little uneven indoors but not really bad. Thought the warm up was quite nice actually!! Personally i like places that have a nice big warm up area, compared to places like duckhurst where the warm up is small (although i do like duckhurst, but have a new mare that can be a bit naughty if horses are too close so am concentrating on places with bigger warm ups)
Wasnt that busy either which is always a bonus, but was freezing cold in the shade!!
