Sorry for starting new thread but too tired to find other one :o Sandy had x-rays this morning and they showed an enlarged womb so she went in for an emergancy hysterectomy straight away. She came round about 5pm and providing everything goes well she can come home tomorrow evening :)

Thanks for all the well wishes :) Fingers crossed this is what was causing the problem and she'll pick up again now.

They're going to investigate what was causing the swelling and let us know when we pick her up - as bloods all came back clear its a bit worrying but x-rays didnt show any tumours or anything :)
 
Poor girl. I hope this sorts out the problem and she is soon back home, sending loads of healing vibes. Do they not think it was a pyo then as you say they are going to investigate the cause of the enlarged womb?

Wow, thank goodness she is OK. Sounds very similar to what happened to my bitch (she did have a pyo/emergency hyst) although wasn't displaying such severe symptoms) at 11 years old and she lived happily for another three :)

God knows what might have happened at her previous home :( well done for spotting it and getting her seen to in time x
 
We can pick her up after 5pm today :) They want to keep an eye on her today. They think it was pyometra so having her womb out plus a course of antibiotics and she should be fine :) She's already spoiled rotten by mum and dad, she's going to be even worse now! :D
 
Thank goodness she went through this with your mum and dad and not in her previous home. Yay, update with piccies when shes home please! :D
 
She's home :D She's definately feeling better already - she's eating really well and so much happier :)

Thanks again for all your well wishes :) I'll take some pics asap - probably monday :)
