Had a great day things actually came together all on one day. I love Sansaw and it is such a shame it will be their last ever event as it is going to be more intensively farmed.
We entered the CIC** as a warm up to the CCI** in Ede at the end of the month. Dressage was much improved you could actually recognise most of the movements but still loads of room for improvement. We got 57.6 which I was really chuffed with and 10 marks better than our last attempt last year. She was actually in the top half which is great in such a high standard class.
Show jumping was causing a lot of problems and fences seemed to roll easily but she jumped a neat clear round.
XC was certainly one of the biggest courses I have tackled with a lot of full width fences and also a lot of narrow fences. The trekanner was huge as was the brush with the ditch in front - I took MdM advice and didn't go too close in the end! She jumped a super round made nothing of the size and was accurate to the narrow ones. She was very careful and jumped very cleanly through the difficult double of corners. I didn't feel we were very fast as I was having to push her the whole way - I guess that is where the TBs have an advantage over the warmbloods. I was amazed to see I only had 5.6 time penalties and was one of the fastest. I guess I didn't take many checks and kept kicking.
I was pleased as puch to be 8th actually less than 3 marks off 3rd. I never expected to be that high in that company. I feel well prepared for Ede now so in 2 weeks time we travel for Holland then I will probably give her a little break. Having a crack at the SJing this week and off to Royal Cornwall for the Grade C which should be fun.
