Just a little update for anyone who remembers my original thread 'Meet Sapphire'! Link- http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=589305

She had her 1st bday in April and is growing like a weed! She was 12.3 when we got her and is now 13.2/3 at the withers but bum is much bigger! Not sure how fast is too fast...? Still a bit lighter than we want her though she has been living out with my two girls for a while and they get a huge pile of hay in the evening, and she gets a dinner feed of a handful of baileys alfa oil chaff, baileys mud of stud balancer and mug of stud cubes. I know youngsters shouldn't be heavy and she isn't lacklustre etc what do breeding people think?? We reckon she has taken the food and used it for growing instead! At the weekend they're moving onto a huge rested field so she will get some nice grass then :)
She is still just as chillaxed and cool as when she first got off the box! Though sadly, is going grey skewbald not blue :( Though she has pinky red hairs in some of her grey patches, and a sky blue colour around the edges of her colour which is interesting !
Most recent piccies of her ladyship:

Grooming Auntie Nesta

Hard work watching you poo pick, I better lie down!

Bit too trim for my liking, ribs and bones easily felt etc

I think she looks right weight-wise, I wouldn't want more on her and she could probably lose a bit without any issues... Especially as she's a baby. You want to be easily able to feel ribs, and preferably see them when the horse is moving, unless you plan on showing her :D

Thankyou. Yep can feel them very very easily and see them when she's moving about. Will let mum know not to be so worried about it :)
And we do, but only to get her out and about to shows for experience :p:D

I agree RE her weight, she looks just right. :)

ETA - different breed, but this was my boy as a yearling and the Vet was very happy with his weight.

not sure if there's a normal growth rate guess every horse is different! but I got my boy at 18 months and he was 14'2, and within a year he'd got to 16'2. bearing in mind when I bought him he was only supposed to make 15'2, its a bit of a shock!

also last winter he was in a 6'0 rug, by the end of this winter he's reach 6'6 he was 3, 3 weeks ago and I'm hoping he's not going to grow anymore as I bought him rugs in the sales ready for next winter! fingers x'd!

but your lady looks like shes going to be a big girly!!
