Just wondering if anyone can help. Have heard great things re Saracen horse feeds and am looking to try it with my TB when he returns next weekend.

Have found a local stockist but now just need to work out exactly what I should be feeding - there is such a huge selection.

Do any of you use it, and if so how have you found it?

Ones I looked at had rather a high starch content.

Might be better if you can tell us what you want to feed for, the nature of the horse, and the type of work he is in?

I started feeding Saracen to my TB last year and I am still amazed at the results. I have never been able to cover her ribs without making her fat, or keep a good weight and condition both at the same time but this stuff has done absolute wonders! And it is really well priced.

She is a 16.2hh, barefoot, 16yo TB in light/med work and I feed her the Saracen Veteran mix. She is only on half of the recommended amount (1kg per day over 2 feeds) as she is quite a good doer and since coming in for winter I have just started her on 250g a day over 2 feeds of the essential balancer to level out her nutrients. She looks, great, feels great and I couldn't be happier with it!

They are really very helpful too if you email or call them :)
