Any one use them and have any thoughts on them?

I've been reading the saracen website and a few of their conditing feeds, balancers and show feeds interested me with a view to weight gain.

What are they like price wise compared to other brands?

Thank you

I used the saracen equi jewel last year when I needed my mare to put on a bit of condition, and it was fantastic as you don't need to feed a lot of it and its lasts for ages but on the downside it was quite expensive.

equi-jewel is imported I think and not actually made by Saracen but it's brilliant stuff.

Saracen is availble at my cash n carry but I prefer D&H feeds

My horsey is on saracen veteran pencils...she has not lost any weight over winter and looks great - she has 3 feeds a day with sugar beet and her supplements and goes out during the day...she has stopped eating certain other feeds as she went off them but loves the pencils...she is a v fussy eater!!!
(she has weighed haylage too)
Apparently they are very helpful on the phone too.

Slightly off the point, but I feed my old rescue donkey on Saracen Donkey Diet - does what it says on the 'tin'. Costs me £6.90 for a 20Kg sack.

I can only say how our horses look, several are on Saracen diets devised by their rep. If you go to my blog www.narramorehorses.blogspot.com the three who are on Saracen are the stallion, William and Diamond. their shine and condition shows how good the feed is.
Equijewel is great and I highly recommend it.
My biggest gripe is the price, the bags of Prep 14 and level Grow are over £11 a bag..but you can actually feed less of it than many other feeds so it ends up average price.
The other benefit is I have never seen a horse turn it's nose up at the mixes, they all love them.

All of mine are on Saracen feeds (I have 11 at home from yearlings to dressage horses competing at Inter 1), their nutritionist came out to see my horses and listened to what I wanted for each eg more weight, less weight, less fizz etc. They swapped over at the end of last year and are all looking fab. We even got condition on a tricky one who can be very sharp. I can agree about Equi Jewel being brilliant stuff, several of mine have done very well on it. It also makes their coats look great as well. I have found that once you have the weight on you can go down to a very low maintenance level which reduces the cost a bit.
