You should only need to feed one or the other.
Why do you want to feed both?
They are both complete feeds so fed at the recommended amount or a smaller amount with a balancer should be sufficient to supply the correct amount of vits mins and increased calories.
I personally only feed Saracen feeds and find them excellent.
If your horse still required extra calories I would add equijewel (love this) or linseed (love this too)
Feeding two complete feeds is a waste of money.

Thanks for your reply i did think feeding 2 would be too much had great results in the past with another horse on showing pencils, i no it already has equjewel in it but can you buy this seperatly & add more to the feed? how much extra can you add to the feed?

do you have any experience with saracen veteran mix is this anygood for weight gain,

Hes not in work & stabled

Yep you can buy equijewel seperately. You can get it direct from Saracen with free delivery. They also have a cup they will send you for free to measure it. You can add up to 1.5kg a day to top up. I used to alter it up and down as she required.
I've never used the veteran mix. But if you fill in Saracens online enquiry form they do a really thorough analysis for you and what your horses needs are (and they don't push their own feed I have been advised to use a different company's feed by them in the past)
I currently use Stamm 30 which is one of their balancers and just mix it with an unmollassed chop (my filly gets sugar highs lol)
Sometimes some unmollassed sugar beet but tend to just damp it with a little water.
I like to keep it as simple as possible.
