Sarc Ex, has anyone used this?

Will try & keep it short. 1 of mine has developed a sarcoid where his girth goes so I had the vet out this morning & he said it's to flat to do the rubber band treatment, but said about the cream treatment that it is very expensive & he would need the vet about 3/4 times to do this treatment & will be out of work for a while.

He & the YM both suggested before spending out a fortune have a go with sarc ex or something similar as he isn't bothered by it at all & it's not big, but if it gets worse or starts bleeding etc when ridden then we will have to go down the other route.

So I just wondered if anyone had used it, my YM has been using it with one of her's & has said it worked, but I just wondered if anyone else had used it. I have had a look online & found a sarc ex cream aswell...

I was going to write this exact post today too!! :D;)
I was looking into getting the cream and supplement but wanted some user experiances so i know i'm not wasting money. :p
 
Yes, I have used both the cream and the supplement, mine had a wart type one between his front legs, vet did name it, can't remember ! It's gone, I went to a lecture given by professor knottenbolt ? Was telling him about it, he seemed to think we were very lucky, I now, at this time of year apply sudocrem to the area where it was to keep fly's away, have passed the last bit of cream on to a friend and she can see some improvement.
 
Does anyone know what's in SarcEx? I dislike Global Herbs stuff generally because they're so cagey about what they put in their supplements. I fed my big lad Restore last year and had a heck of a job convincing them to tell me what was in it (he is allergic to a few things and I needed to make sure there was nothing in there that might upset him - even then they still didn't want to tell me. They just put their vet on the phone and tried to flog me a load of other supplements!).
 
I've used the supplement on my gelding with brilliant effects, I started using it in Autumn last year as he had one flat sarcoid (4cm x 2cm) and 4/5 small nodular ones. One by one they have turned black and fallen off, leaving perfect skin behind! Now he just has one tiny one left that you wouldn't find unless you knew what it was. His were small, no bleeding/redness and not in a place that affected him, so I decided to try this then go for the cream if it didn't work.

It is quite pricey £27 per tub which lasts around a month at full dose, and the global herbs line advised it usually takes 3-6 months to work, so if you haven't seen any changes by then try something else.
 
Ask your vet about Sarc-off, a bloodroot ointment that they can supply you. It is around £100 per pot, but worked amazingly on my boy's sarcoids, which were in a difficult to treat location just directly above one eye. Other smaller sarcoids on his flank fell of while using it, which is aparently normal. Can't recommend the stuff highly enough.
 
Chestnut cob that's my problem with them. I rung to find out what levels off all the vit/mins etc were in global vite so I could compair. Would they tell me?? Like heck. So as I said to them " well that's my mind made up I won't be useing your products" they are awful like that
 
I expect that the reason they won't tell you is in case you are 'researching' them for one of their competitors.
 
Thanks for the feedback. My vet suggested just trying it over the summer unless it gets worse or course, as he said least that way if we try that first he won't be out of work during the summer. Such a pain that it's right wear his girth goes :rolleyes:

I asked the vet if there was any creams he could supply, but he said the cream treament they have to do which would mean about 3/4 visits as he said they are not allowed to give out the cream.

they have suddenly got worse the last week after not changing in the 6 months ive had him....someone said it maybe the sun?:(
