my mare use to have a sacloid but it got removed about a year and abit ago, Ive got no other option bt to use a martin gale on her, yet this catches it. as the hot weather comes she seems to get flys on to, yet i also dont want to put fly repellent on as it may annoy it. please help?!?!

Stop using the martingale, you are just going to aggrevate the sarcoid terribly and couse a secondary infection.

my gelding had some sarcoids removed, i use wound powder as a fly repellent, it keeps the flys off plus stops infection if they do get thru, also seems to stop any itching and keeps the area dry.
maybe put a bit of fleece over martingale where it catches.
be careful with camrosa, my horse had very bad reaction to it.

If the sarcoid has been removed I can't imagine how it is '' catching'' on your martingale? as surely it would just be a small/ (or depending on the size) scar there. Pherhaps you could use a wool cover to make the martingale softer or remove the martingale altogether. My horse has had 2 sarcoids removed and you can only see very feint scars there....

i cant stop using my martingale as she rears etc, so it helps alot with keeping her head down. and we need it for our jumping as we jump high. any other suggestions.
