:(.....I took a horse in from people who didn't want it anymore. The day I went to fetch him I saw he had a huge sarcoid on the back of his cheek bone. Please i need some advice on how to treat this thing...it is BIG!!

Thank you

You're right on glands and, I think, lymph nodes, there. You need advice from a vet. Meanwhile don't touch it. I write this as someone who routinely treats my own. I wouldn't touch that. If it gets into the lymph system it could spread anywhere, including internally :(

I hope the OP takes notice of this advice, from their other thread it seems that the horse is getting something put on the sarcoid and is now proving difficult to catch, OP please get a vet in to assess it ASAP, it may be expensive but will be far better than putting the horse through various home remedies and then calling in the professional, unfortunately you are now finding out why he was unwanted, you either need to treat him properly or have him pts if he has no useful future or you cannot afford to get the vet involved.

Oh for heavens sake poor horse .

i have treated my mares sarcoids myself but what you are describing has to be seen by a vet. i presume previous owners didn't want this horse because of the sarcoid and because one such as that is likely to be expensive to treat. please let a vet have a look and then decide from there what to do.

colgate toothpaste is the latest fad! Whatever next. like others have said vet asap. sorry gs phone playing up not sure why my reply is on your quote! Bloody phone

applecart, i found 3 sarcoids on my mare's inner thigh when i got her and since i have had her she developed another on her side which i at first thought was a fly bite. i have self treated using thuja pills and thuja cream which got rid of 2 completely and shrunk the biggest by half. i read that fluoride is often used for sarcoid treatment so when the thuja cream ran out i thought i'd give the toothpaste a go as it's a fraction of the price and lo and behold the biggest sarcoid is barely visible and the one on her side almost gone too. So i would say there is some truth in it , and worth a try for certain types of sarcoids but OBVIOUSLY not suggesting it for this OP who must see a vet for this aggresive sarcoid. i think it is like turmeric, might work for some but not others, in my case though thankfully the results have been fantastic
