Sarcoid? Shaped like ring donut!?

As title really - my mare had approx 2cm lump on her back that is hollow in the centre so it feels like a tiny ring donut! It was a lump but top came off when she was hot one day (under saddle) and some squelchy black stuff came out and now it's stayed like a donut.

It's under her hair so tricky to photo. Under her saddle but doesn't seem to cause pain etc

Any ideas? Can sarcoids look like ring donuts!?

Hard to say without seeing pic but may be worth getting skin scrape done to rule out ringworm - so contagious, a ****** to get rid of.

Sounds like it could have been an ingrown hair and the area around it has set down collegen. Doesn't sound like a sarcoid and if it's not causing any problems, I would leave it well alone.

Sounds like it could be ringworm. My boy had it on his back a few months back and sounded just like that. I used Hypocare and it cleared up very fast!
