Before I opted for liverpool cream or freezing I decided to try thuja cream on recommendation from two friends.Quick update to let everyone know that the sarcoid has dropped off after approx 6 weeks treatment.
Thought anyone dealing with early stages and wanting alternative method before they go they decide on more aggressive route would be interested.:D

Thats excellent news - my girl had a large fibroblastic (sp?) i tried the thuja tablets and they didnt do anything i didnt use the cream as you are not supposed to put anything on them. In the end i used liverpool cream and the whole thing disappeared just a little line where it used to be. To be honest the sarcoid itself was awful bleeding etc. I am really pleased that the thuji cream worked for you x:)

Try crest tooth paste!! I know a few folk who has used it and it has got rid of their horses sarcoids, I just got a rescue horsey in with a sarcoid and have just started applying it. A lot cheaper that the liverpool cream and just as effective! :)

Vet didnt say what type he wasnt 100% sure as I found it in very early stages .The cream advanced sarcoid development once I started treatment it went from blocked pore type lump size of small finger nail to large thumbnail size very quickly .Basically grew out and had stem and head, horrible thing.:D

mmm very difficult for vets to actually say yes its a sarcoid or no but obviously time is paramount with starting treatment. you are lucky cellie the ones on stalks seem to be easy to treat

I am glad the thuja worked for you :)
Sadly it didnt work for my lad and my vet has advised me against any kind of 'alternative' treatment as she said the research into sarcoids suggests that they can do more harm than good and although she sometimes remove the external part of the sarcoid the underlying cause of the sarcoids can react badly and will cause more problems in the long run.

I was going to put Chico on Sarc-Ex after his treatment but now i dont think i will.

I will leave treating this aggressive form of skin cancer to a qualified vet :)

My rescue's sarcoid is dry and not weeping and i think its been the same way for the others i know who have used the crest. Maybe best stick with the liverpool cream as i dont know if the crest would inflame your horses sarcoid even more :/ It would probably sting a lot when applied because of the mint in the tooth paste. You could always ask your vet, its still a much cheaper option than the liverpool cream.

After reading other posts should tell you that my mare never reacted to thuja cream even when part of sarcoid was hanging off it certainly couldnt have stung or caused her discomfort as she is type to react.
