Sarcoid treatment

Hi, I have a 13 year old grey thoroughbred, who used to have many sarcoids, but were lasered off about 7 months ago. None had come back until about a month ago when I notice two right at the top of either back leg and one very small one on his chest. All look like spheres and I think he may have an occult on his belly. Vet said they were likely to come back when they were taken off. What can I do to slow them down (preferably not surgical)? Particularly nasty creams aren’t an option as he’s very sensitive around them due to past trauma, he wouldn’t have the flour salt paste on after about three tries. Been using sarc ex on him for a while but then again intermittently at times. How much do people put in each feed? Is it likely to work on him as I’ve heard it’s better on younger horses?

I had one lazered on his inner stiffle. Unfortunately it grew back. And with a vengeance. I’m actually going down the oily herbs and turmeric route. I can’t get near his either. He will kick. I’m packing rosemary. Oregano. Thyme. Basil. And big spoon falls of turmeric into his feed twice a day. It has honestly reduced in size. I get Tumeric from Indian section at Sainsbury’s. 1.99 a big bag. Rest on line.

Mine had one under his eye, a bobbly one, & I put cold sore cream on it. It's cheap on Amazon. I didn't realise how much it was holding them in check until he went away for a month & OMG they had gone crazy! I started the cold sore cream again and they started shrinking & dropping off. Not sure what happened next as I sold him.

Some weirdo's roll their eyes at the mention of tumeric but purely speaking from experience - Ive mixed turmeric with sudocrem and smeared it thickly onto sarcoids on 2 different horses (both had a long term sarcoid which eventually got irritated by flies one summer). Fed them golden paste too (recipe online). The sarcoids both healed up beautifully and went away very quickly. Both sarcoids went totally flat and literally I can barely see where they were on either horse. That was many years ago and neither sarcoid has made an appearance since! Id def go down this route first. I had a mare who had the liverpool cream on a sarcoid on her face before I got her and she was left with a huge scar so Id try everything before considering it.

I found sarc ex didn't work on mine, but when I changed him over to omega herbs sarc xpell, all 13 sarcoids disappeared over a few months.

Just on a cautionary note: I mixed turmeric and sudocrem and applied to a sarcoid, which seemed to aggravate it and it grew to about 10 times the size very very rapidly.
I have previously used toothpaste and cold sore cream (separately) and both small sarcoids fell off in a few weeks.
I have also done nothing and the sarcoids fell off in time.....

Try Thuja tablets from the homeopathic shop, and/or Thuja cream. This worked on some, the last one which had grown bigger was frozen off. no pain and positive result for the rest of her life.

when i got my mare she had a small one on inner thigh on near hind, she then got more 2 under girth one by boobies and one on face, the face one was a pain to go and spread but vet got it and killed it now she is sarcoid free

My boy had a pretty large sarcoid on his tummy, vet wanted £2.5k to remove it. Someone suggested the sarcoid cure to me from Facebook, it took 10 months and was quite an ugly experience but it disappeared and has never grown back.

Tried sarcoid cure on him, after about 5 days he decided he wasn’t having it and was starting to try and rear or kick when I tried to put it on.

Oily herbs (adding to diet) made all but 2 disappear and the 2 that are remaining are slowly shrinking - 1 is less than a quarter of the size as it was this time last year.

Do you use Facebook messenger? I think the only way I managed to get hold of the page was via searching for the group on Facebook messenger. I believe she doesn’t allow for messaging on weekends and when she’s away which caused abit of a glitch for me as I couldn’t ever see a message button on the Facebook page. You can try commenting on one of the posts too (however prewarning this sometimes results in a snarky reply! But it’s definitely not just us that have had issues getting through so not sure what she expects lol)

So I have mare that first grew her sarcoid at 10. She's now 24 and retired because of them. I have tried a lot of treatments - vet and herbal. Unfortunately they have grown back every time. We tried banding, vet creams and freezing. Each time it grew back worse. Then tried various herbal remedies...one very popular one on FB, mentioned above, told me it didn't work (after 6 months of buying the paste and feed additive) as I didn't believe! I then tried an Arc Equine. It certainly made them drop out but she then had a lot more of various types appear. I can't use most creams on them as it causes them to bleed and weep. I have found I can use Sudocrem but even then she flinches as I apply it. I haven't tried mixing it with tumeric. I am currently trying Indiba (I am lucky enough to have a very good friend that is trained in Indiba). i was recently told by my vet that the most succesful vet treatment is laser but that is only 60-70% succesfull. I wish you good luck as I really don't believe there is any proven treatment. XX

I feed oily herbs (thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary), I also feed the ingredients for Radiance Gold (brewers yeast, bicarb, fenugreek, milk thistle) and then I also feed the main ingredients to Sarc-ex (tulsi leaves, amla powder, ashwaghanda). I also use the flour and salt paste but if he wont tolerate topical treatments, feeding the main ingredients for the most recommended supplements is worth a try, and much cheaper.
