my tb has 3 sarcoids. One on the inside of her hindleg that the vet has advised be treated with Liverpool cream, a nodular one under her tail he advised to leave for now but keep a close eye on, and one on her eyelid that is too dangerous to use Liverpool cream on but he has said i can try applying Zorax (a retinoid cream) which should help but apparently rarely gives a complete cure - or she can go to Liverpool for radiation therapy which will cost £4k (she is insured) but sounds very risky to me. Has anyone tried any of these treatments and had good / bad / unexpected results? What about the herbal supplements like sarc-ex? I want to make the best decision for my girl :(

Hi, My boy has undergone the expensive radiation treatment a couple of months ago, there's also a thread on here try searching for iridium 192 in the search field as I did the same!

You can also look at www.sarcoids.co.uk which is the Liverpool website for sarcoids which is VERY informative and gives the facts straight. I was lucky and spoke to Prok Knottenbelt before I commited to the op as I wasn't sure of the outcome/effect on my horse (he was only 4 at the time). The alternative treatment for Sarcoids in the eye area is to give a course of BCG injections into the lump but it depends where the lump is located in relation to the eye.

He hasn't really been bothered about the surgery the travel there and backor anything other than having his face washed and eye cleaned (he was like this before). It is starting to abcess now and the goo is coming out slowly as it should be so I'm pleased so far and my own vet has been a great support so far. My bill for Liverpool was £4300 as he was in the radiation for 9 days with 3 bits of iridium in his lump, (cost can fluctuate) and it was covered by my insurers.

Feel free to PM me if you want, will happily help where/if I can as I know how stressful it can be, been there got the tears t-shirt :)

My boy has a sarcoid on his tummy and under his neck, i have left it alone and fed sarc-ex for 2 months and it has shrunk a huge amount, so worth a try
