I appreciate the cost of treating sarcoids will vary depending on a number of factors, however I would be interested to hear your experiences, method of treatment and cost (PM if you prefer). Also if anyone has claimed for this on their insurance or not been covered.
Thanks in advance.

Xxterra (bloodroot) ointment is wonderful stuff. You can only get it from your vet but you can put it on yourself as long as you use gloves. It costs about £100-£125 a pot.

Its scientifically proven to work and seems to alert the horse's own immune system to the problem so it can lead to immunity to future sarcoid formation. I've seen it used on two horses and in both of them not only the treated sarcoids shrivelled up and went away but all the other sarcoids on those horse's bodies also shrivelled up and went away. One horse had about 15 sarcoids. About 10 were treated. All of them went and have not recurred in 2 years. The other horse had 4 treated with a further 3 in a rather sensitive area. All the sarcoids have gone.

One of mine had a sarcoid removed using the Liverpool cream fron her undercarriage it was about £400.00 but the majority of the call out charges were split between another person .

My boy had terrible sarcoids in his groin area. My vet recommended the Liverpool Cream route so scrapings and photos were sent for diagnosis. This for some reason took nearly 10 weeks to get the answer from Liverpool that yes they were sarcoids. Whilst waiting, they were growing bigger so I did a lot of research and I decided to go down the homeopathic route. I decided to treat him which was about £40 (tablets and cream) and I had excellent results. The smaller ones fell off, the huge one came away with the help of my vet. The medium ones we decided to band and that worked wonders too. I had to pay for the Liverpool Cream but did not use it, so insurance paid in the end. Total of all this came to about £600 (nearly £300 was the cream alone) with vets visits, banding etc etc. I am not insured anymore for this, so I will look at alternative treatments without hesitating however controversial it is.

Thanks for all your replies so far - very much appreciated. It is a minefield reading things on the web, so it's useful hearing peoples experiences.
