Noticed these on my TB mare's mouth area before............please tell me there NOT sarcoids??? :( any ideas? there not bothering her, not sore etc She is fit, well, shiny and healthy. However she has been out of work for past 14 days due to ill fitting saddle which has caused a tense back - shes getting better and has another 14 days off.
Going to keep my eye on them if they grow or change am getting the vet pronto. Vet is due to come out next week anyway.
Thanks guys :)

They look like skin tags but black? shes rising 6.
Am hoping they will disappear, never dealt with sarcoids before but been googling pictures and they def seem more warty looking than what my mare has?

Really weird suggestion, but have you checked they aren't ticks! This time of year all these baby ticks are appearing! Damn the lil booooogers! Anyways from grazing my youngster has picked a few up and I pulled them off to find little tick legs and heads -_-

Hope it's nothing bad! :)

xx

Has she been rumaging in thorny hedges? Dont look like sarcoids to me more like tags or thorny bits. But I am no expert!

Def not foreign bodies ie thorns or tics - they are attached. They look like skin tags that humans sometimes get? they are black skin coloured, i thought they may have been something attached and sponged them with water. they look like a growth.

hi my horse has sarcoids and these are NOT sarcoids i am happy to say. Obviously i am not a vet but even new sarcoids dont look like this they look more like tht other reply - skin tags. Hope i have put your mind at rest but if you are really worried get the vet to check :)

Thank you :)
You have put my mind at ease!!
Will keep an eye on them anyway but i suspect they are skin tags :)

They are horse moles. Scar tissue from a bite that has healed bumpy. They tend to dissapear over time.

I like her beauty spots :D

They just seem to have appeared  there very tiny though, bless her such a softy :) i noticed them whilst having cuddles this afternoon
thats why i was able to get some good pics of them.
Will keep an eye on them :) never heard of horse moles before :)

My gelding had something identical appear just under his eye last summer and i thought oh my god he has got the start of a Sarcoid (being grey aswell). But i have kept a very close eye on it and it hasn't grown, changed shape or bled in over a year so i think it is just a skin tag/mole.
