i think my pony has a sarcoid in side his right leg, by his stifle and flank. its looks more like a wart. its gray and very dry about the size of a 2 pound.
He live out will it cause more problems him living out can it cause lameness and short strides ? but scare that we not going to have enough money to pay for the vet bills any help ?

I have a horse with reoccuring ones.
My advice would be to keep an eye on it. Has it changed shape? grown? opened up into a sore since you've noticed it?
How long has he had it?
If it doesnt change it may be safe enough to leave it alone. Many horses can have one all their lives and it doesnt cause them any bother.
However - if he has more than one, new ones grow, or the current one changes shape or grows then you must must must get the treated and quickly!!

Just keep an eye on it and next time your vet comes get him to have a look. If it stays the same there shouldn't be a problem, but if it starts growing or getting messy then it will need treatment of some sort. I can't see that it will affect his movement.

Try and keep the flies away from it by covering with a bit of vaseline.

My old boy used to get them and my vet advised putting a piece of paper over it and drawing around it so that you can then check whether it has grown over time. Might be worth doing if you can do it without getting kicked!

Most horses with sarcoids have no more trouble from them than people do with warts. Unless its somewhere that rubs on another surface, lone sarcoids don't cause problems with movement or short strides. Without meaning to be critical, if vet bills are a struggle generally, it would be wise to get insurance, not for the sarcoid necessarily but for anything else that might occur.
