Hi, was looking for some advice

The horse I have on loan as contract has ran up and they want him back. Obviously we're devastated, but it's probably a good thing as my dads been made unemployed and my mum is finding it difficult to get clients because of the recession (she's a practitioner). Ive been offered another horse at the yard for a good price per week, but not sure whether parents will be able to afford it, and its the sort of amount i could make myself if i had a part time job that i could fit around 6th form. Had various jobs before, but not in the last year because of time - worked unpaid at a driving yard, various riding schools etc and then paid at a polo yard and at a dressage yard (well known in the area) - working with stallins, comp horses and mares and foals. I'm 18yo and experienced with horses and have a list of references as long as my arm should they be needed!

What i was wondering was, to get a job is it just a matter of asking yards directly, or sending out CV type paperwork (although i don't have any qualifications, still at school) - or any other ideas?? All jobs I've had previously have been through word of mouth.

Thankyou

I've also called/emailed yards in my area as you never know...they may know someone through someone etc etc...
Put a post up on internet sites..tack shops, word of mouth at livery yards etc, it's worth a go....good luck to you!

ETS: I've also trawled round various yards asking for work too, which is how I got my current job at riding school..it wasn't advertised either
