Saudi Arabia - riding/competing opportunities

There's a chance I may be going to live in Saudi for a while & was wondering if any of you good people had any experience of riding/competing in the Kingdom?

Would be for myself & my daughter & we'll be based at Ta'if. Many thanks in advance.

No useful info I am afraid, but I'm curious. Are you male or female? I ask because the daughter of our next door neighbours has just spent several years in Saudi as her husband was on an army posting. She has two children (teenagers). The boy said he loved it - loads of macho things to do, like racing Landies in the desert etc. The girl said she was bored still. Neither she nor her mother were allowed to drive, though both had driving licences, and they were very circumscribed in what they could/could not do - no fun for them at all.

So how are you going to manage re riding and competing?
