Oh wow thats so exciting Sam is placed so well! Have lessons with him and he is a lovely guy who really deserves a good placing! Good luck to all horses and riders, hope they all come back safely!

Had dinner with both last night, never met Sam before, seems like a very nice guy, classic laid back Aussie.

More of you should come out to Saumur and Le Lion d'Angers (third weekend of October) They are great events and there are plenty of cheap hotels (39€ per night).

???? has he just died?

legs twitching like that = dead pony i'm afraid... just trying to work out what happened...

Either it had a heart attack coming into the corner.. or Clayton road like a pile of [****] and let it fall over, breaking its neck on landing...

Don't think they've said anything - not that my french is good enough to know, just don't think they would.

It looked as though he slipped on the corner and got his nose underneath him and broke neck...but as MDM says could also be a heart attack.

Yeah I though so, was expecting it to get up but it just lay there. Looks like it slipped coming round the corner too fast or something maybe the rain made it slippy and they just came round too tight. Either way that's so sad

crikey there's some ropey riding. someone just rode like a nutter at the double of hedges after the hummock up and down, ran out at second hedge. an earlier rider steadied, rebalanced for hummock, jumped the hedges beautifully.
honestly... riding xc as if nothing can possibly go wrong is asking for it to go wrong, isn't it?
gutted about Nullabor.
