GSD x Husky.

She was beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Looked body-shape wise like a Husky and her face was tan (where Huskies are white) and black, her tummy was white and her back was GSD-coloured.

Had a Husky coat and tail and was the most placid tempered dog I've ever seen. Let me (a total stranger) sit in the boot of the car with her and cuddle and stroke her and generally mess about with her. She has the most amazing recall (apparently!) and even ignored a squirrel cross our carpark right in front of her.

No point to this post as I didn't get a picture either (didn't think her owner would be too impressed!) but she is lovely.

Lies, all lies! :p

The chap in our local pub has three GSD x malamute x huskies (supposedly wolf in there too, though I don't believe it for a second) and they are gorgeous creatures but absolutely gigantic - my little husky is tiny in comparison and utterly terrified of them if they all descend on her at once.

I did think of you and CC as soon as I heard the cross!

Specifically asked about the recall as she said she'd just been on the Chevin (local forest park) where I've stopped walking because Herman has the uncanny ability to find the smallest dog on there to bully. Apparently she stays to heel the whole way! She's from the Dogs Trust, they got her at 7months and she's now a year.

Did ask if she wanted to swap for Herman but she declined. Can't imagine why

ETA: Oh and she was tiny only about an inch above my knee (I'm not THAT tall either!). Was expecting something much bigger.

More lies! :p ;)

MM, a lot of people ask me what mine is crossed with because they expect a much bigger dog even though she's 2" taller than the breed standard anyway. It's a wonder the one you saw isn't bigger, given the GSD, but at one year she might grow a tad more yet. :)

They are excellent with strangers, it's part of the reason I have to keep mine on the long line, I can't stop her from galumping up to terrified walkers and greeting them like long-lost friends. :o

She sounds lovely, although have to agree would have expected her to be bigger (unless you have very high knees :p). It may be the DT had to guess a bit at her breeding. I have to say that as long as you had been introduced to them my girls would all let you share the car boot with them, although they would much prefer it if you took them for a drive.:D

Gala on here has a beautiful GSD x husky, lovely GSD shape with very striking husky markings.

Wouldn't own one myself but can see why people are captivated by them.

My GSDs will not only let people sit in the car boot with them, they will jump into other people's cars :o

My bitch is 8 months, how much more can i expect her to grow roughly, I've had lots of different 'advice' about this as I'm worried she isn't growing properly. Due to severe allergies I feed her raw and now she's doing ALOT better than when when I got her (7 weeks old)

Hah, I can relate to that, mine can't eat wheat/rice/corn and is now also fed raw. :)

At 8 months mine was roughly 22" to the shoulder and about 18kg, doing poorly on a commercial diet, and at nearly 12 months she's now 24.5" and 25kg - she really packed weight on after the change in diet and is now spot on for her height. I think breed standard is 20-23kg for bitches of 'normal' height?

I wouldn't worry too much, the big male who lives near us is over 30kg and I worried for a long time that mine wasn't growing right but she's come into her own now. :)

Chilli's parents were bigger and compared to them she's small but now you've just put my mind at ease :) It's difficult because the vet always says 'a dog on a comercial diet should be this weight....' which makes me panic! So thank you
