He arrived at the yard on Friday morning. He seems to be finding is all very exciting so far. He is a 16hh Hanoverian gelding with the most amazing movement, especially his trot which is to die for but surprisingly easy to sit :-)

Looks very nice and congratulations on your new horse. Now...come back with more pics and videos of that trot :-)

He turned out to be the type that needed a lot of hard work every day which would have proven too problematic for me as I have a full time job so can only really ride about 4 times a week. He also had a very short attention span so wouldn't have made much of a dressage neddy. It was a hard decision to make at the end of the trial period but it was definitely the right one and the dealer was really good natured about it
 
update:

For the first time today since he arrived on Friday Matty did some proper work today as the saddler did his thing. He was rather spooky but all things considered (especially as until now he'd been in the same home his whole life) he did well and was relaxed (ish!) by the end. He was certainly very happy to get his dinner afterwards!
 
Update:

We had our first lesson today and he was an absolute angel despite some very confusing messaging from his slightly incompetent rider (me!!)

He seems to have found himself a bit of a fan club locally and has a big character so I was wondering if anyone would be interested if he were to start writing a blog Hovis style? Would any of you read it??
