Not mud fever this time!
Belle cut her heels last sunday when she stood on a broken piece of concrete. I decided it wasn't deep o long enough to need stitching so hibiscrubbed it and put some prtoection plus on it. Because the fields are dry I turned her out again. Next day I did the same. Now it's started scabbing over and OH advised not to wash it anymore as would take the scab off, which sounds about right. Problem is, it looks muddy to me and I don't want to risk it getting infected. Fields are still dry though so hopefully it'll be ok to just leave it now and let it scab naturally, then the scab will fall off.
Is that right or should I still be washing it? The scab is a bit yellow, but I would espect that from any scab, it doesn't look infected and hasn't bled since it happened.
Thanks in advance
