scabby nose on a donkey?..

Just had an invasion of a trio of donkeys(escaped from next door field), didn't think at the time but let the owners use one of my headcollars to lead one, but he had a scabby nose? Any ideas of what this could be, as I don't want my horses to catch anything.

If you are worried disinfect your headcollar and rope. Donkeys get the same as horses, what age donkey? Could it be the warts a lot of youngsters get, both horses and donkeys?
