Just got in from checking horses, and have discovered that my one with a pink snip has now got the scabbing on both her white feet! Must conclude from this that it is an allergic reaction, as i wouldn't of thought it to be sunburn on her heels! The scabbing is similar to that of mud feaver and only on the exposed sensetive pinkish areas on the heels of her white feet. Am now treating this with the same cream as i put on her nose. My other bay in the same field with white feet is ok!
Thanks again to everyone for your input.

It sounds like your horse is photosensative. My lad had this on his nose a few years back.I found Aloe vera gel really helped to soothe and heal it.50 factor Sun cream dident seem to work on his nose when it was scabbed up.

Sounds alot like buttercups... The actual reaction is from the juices from the plant, so if the horses eat/stand on the plant and the juice from the plant gets on them the skin becomes red and blisters. If humans eat buttercups, our nasal area also blisters

Sounds like photosensitisation. Commonly caused by eating certain plants like St John's Wort. I would call your vet out if the horse is very scabby and sore as treatment with steroids may be warranted. Additionally this can be a sign of liver disease and blood tests could investigate this.

Buttercups can cause photosensitisation, I'd keep it in on teh sunny days and turn it out at night, do have some liver tests done.
