Scabby Tail

I noticed today my Mare has a scabby area at the top of her tail, its just weeping clear fluid. I have washed it and applied sudocream. Where the scab was the hair has come off

Cant see any lice, any ideas what it could be.

Not sure. Is she turned out with any other horses that may chew her tail. This is what happened to my friend's mare because my naughty Jake would chew at it and cause it to bleed. We had to separate them with an electric fence.
