Scabs on horses skin?

Yesterday I noticed 2 random scabby patches on my horse and a 3rd lump of hair which I have since clipped off to reveal another scab and it had quite a bit of pus in it. I have shown the vets at my work and they are saying not ringworm but what are other peoples opinions? It’s not flaky and more a thick scab. I have been cleaning it with diluted hibiscrub and then purple spray on top :)

I'm going to be really unhelpful here and say I've seen that before. However, I was never sure what it was but it got better pretty quickly. I suspected a reaction to insect bites.

My pony developed the same thing about a week ago. At first it was a hard lump that fell off after bathing with dilute Hibiscrub leaving a circle like your first picture. I'm bathing it daily with Hibiscrub and putting on Canesten cream. It hasn't spread. I'm not sure what it is either, - it could be rain scald, but it hasn't properly rain for a while.
I've disinfected all her brushes and wash my hands well after touching her.

Yes hers were like this! It was a hard lump of what felt like matted hair so I clipped it off and it was all hair stuck together by pus/whatever moisture was on the wound. Hers hasn’t spread either but I still gave her a whole hibiscrub bath and cleaned my brushes

If you're washing for skin conditions please remember that hibiscrub can inhibit healthy skin regeneration. Malasab may be a better option.

Dermatophilis, ie rain scald/sweat scald.
Dilute hibiscrub followed by a silver ointment like flamazine. Once the scabs are off stop the hibiscrub as it can delay healing.
