Scam on face book I.e EX racers

There has been a message going around on Face book telling people that a load of ex racers and brood mares are set to go to slaughter in the Birmingham area and says if anyone can offer a home to any of these horses to call a number.

Do not do it! it is a scam and it will rinse money from your phone bill.

Yes, I've seen that thread/ message several times now, ( various locations for the horses though !)

I've put a link about it on my FB as got contacted a couple of times by friends about it. From what I understand it started in America at the beginning of the year. Whether it was genuine then or not I have no idea

I saw that too. It's obviously spread to aus now. I wouldn't have guessed it was a scam at all.

it is not a scam - it was a REAL appeal but from back in January.

If you phone the number it does not connect.
