Asti was scanned at 19 days, vet said "we'll say she's in foal" as there was a dark circle in the scan, but it was bigger than he expected and also a bit too perfect a circle. Now that was fine, a few of you put my mind at rest and said they've seen 15 day scans that look like 19 and vice versa so not to worry...

So she was re-scanned at 26 days and the circle was now irregular shaped with a grey ball of cells clearly visible, but he was still a bit unsure as he could see some grainy-ness in the black area that he didn't think should be there. He thought there was a possibilty she could reabsorb as he wasn't 100% happy with the scan even though you could see a huge change in just 7 days.

He wanted to scan her again later on so she's going hopefully on Friday when she will be 60/61 days from the covering date.

Opinions? Good idea? Bad?

Hannah was scanned at 14 days, 15 days (twinned so needed one nipping), 21 days, 28 days, 42 days, 65 days (she was showing signs of coming into season) and then manual at 100 days...

I think the vet would just like to be 100% sure she is still in foal as most have a NFFR policy so you would need a negative pregnancy scan to be eligible for this. Fingers crossed she is still in foal and all is ok with the scan!
