My horse has an old very deep scar on his leg and it tends to reopen when the weather is hot and dry. The skin dries out and pulls apart. Vet isn't concerned, she has said to use oil over it to keep the skin soft. I have tried vaseline and lately an aluminum spray which isn't too bad as it stays on longer and keeps the flies at bay.
Anyone has experience with scars? what did you/do you use? Could other techniques like ArcEquine be useful as well?

I would give Red Horse HoneyHeal a go. I've been sporadically putting it on The Beast's cyst removal scar and I swear it's got flatter... I'm desperate for someone else to try it on a scar and report back to see if I'm just being mad or not!

Failing that something like Protection Plus would do the job.

Can you use good old fashioned Sudo cream??

yes, didn't think of that. It's a bit difficult to get hold of here but I could try some Bepanthen knock off.

Interesting, I might order a tube. I have some manuka honey (medical grade type) so I might give that a try and order the honey heel if it looks like it might work.
