Some of you may remember that I rescued dave the Rex bunny about 4 months ago!!!

He is no tamer :(

He stroke and scratch him, feed him by hand, but he is still so scared :(

Obviously he needs to go into his run for exercise, which is stressful in itself , we have to get mini in the run to round him up to the end where I can grab him, which obviously makes him more scared :(

What can we do?

Use a cat carrier and let him get in himself, close the door behind him gently, move and release, no need to grab him. After a few trips he'll just get in when you put it down for him.

Being a prey animal rabbits often dont like being picked up. Can you attach his run to his hutch so that you dont have to carry him? This would be better for him anyway as would give him 24 hr access and rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk

Is he neutered? Is not this may help buns often do calm down once done. If you neuter him a confident spayed female friend may help him accept humans and get him more used to you

If you have the time can you spend time just sitting with him quietly and getting him used to you?

Hiya. Mine is exactly the same. Rescue bunny too. I struggle getting to the run, never thought about a carrier, shall invest in one. He loves being scratched & fussed when he lets you. Funny enough he was great to worm, but not to get in his fav run!

Great advice from Webble, apart from the 24/7 access, all mine are free rangers but well locked away in the evening due to foxes!

We have 50+ rabbits, rescues, all our timid buns have benefitted from being neutered/spayed and paired with another bun, 4 months isnt a long time really, we have some that after a year are slowly beginning to trust, but it depends on the day

But surely if your set up is safe enough for day its safe enough for night?
