A week and abit ago, i was getting ready for school, our oldest jack russel -Tom about 14 now, came in the bedroom wagging his tail like usual, suddenly he collasped and was trying to get up, at first i thought he jsut slipped and couldnt get up bcuz its a laminent flooring, but his legs were all shaking and were stiff, my mom picked him up and we put him in his basket, i thought- oh know hes going to die, it was really scary, we all thought he had lost him, i was jsut crying, we took him to the vets as soon as he could, by then he was able to walk and seemed fine, the vet tod us he had a fit.

Now he is his normal self, a old dog but with the mindof a puppy!

But ive never been so upset, it was scary, i now feel for thoughs who have gone through this.

Sounds like a fit, unfortunately as they get older it can happen more frequently, sometimes leading to a stroke.

Our Russel lived for seventeen years and started having fits at about the same age as your dog. Dont worry too much, nothing you can do. Take care

Poor you - it's a horrible experience. We had a JRT who was epilletic so I know what it feels like - but like filly190, ours lived to a ripe age and coped ok.

Sorry to hear about this. 12 yo lab I know takes these as well. He has bad hips but a few times he has went down, started shaking, slabbering etc and lost control of bowel movements. Best thing to do is stay calm sit down beside the dog and stroke and speak to it in a calming voice.

Thanks everyone for your support! Tom seems like his usual self again, i guess its just the old age. But its really horrible to watch! I jsut hope that will be the last one !
