Ive had my poor old pony's ashes in the airing cupboard now for 4 yrs, I really want to scatter them in his old field, if I do this how long should I leave it until I put the other horses back in there to graze?

I lost my Polly on 28th June. Got her ashes back a week ago yesterday. I wanted her to be back with her companions and in the place where she'd been happy, so I scattered the ashes that same evening, across all three of my fields, including the one which my other horses are currently in. It never even occurred to me to leave the field empty.

I dont know that you have to leave it empty, I just had the feeling that I didn't want them eating in the same place as where I just spread them!

Just an idea, but when my old chappie had to be PTS I put a pear tree over his ashes; you could always do something similar but in a pot so that if you do move, or whatever, you can take "him" with you.

Another idea: what about scattering his ashes on one of your/his favourite rides? Perhaps there's a special place on that ride.

Aw, sooo awful for you, my heart goes out.
