Sceptic about vets...

Ok, I was massively relieved to see that there are more people out there who are sceptic about vets. It's not just me!!!

Anyway - looking for a new vet after we've moved earlier this year. Could potentially use same vets as my mare had a few years ago, but I am so massively disappointed with them, I wouldn't want to have to deal with them again.

Has any of you ever registered with several vets in the area to sorta find out which one you like best? Vets are bl**dy expensive, and I just don't want to end up in that scenario again I was in a few years ago (i.e. thousands of pounds paid to vets who initially misdiagnosed, and horse still not going right!).

You could register with a local Vet for vaccinations etc & a specialist for anything more complicated.

I'd just ask around people I thought were pretty knowledgeable about horses and find out who they recommend locally. The vets I use have a couple of horse specialists and the one I know fairly well is absolutely superb.

Registering with more than one vet feels a bit like playing them off against each other. You can always change.
