School visit to HOYS

Out of interest, has any teacher taken a party of students on a vist to the Horse of the Year Show and if so, what was your reason for the visit being 'educational'?

Just received info. for this yrs HOYS, with school discounts....

Introduces people to horses, what they can do, how to act around them and treat them.
Might introduce people to a new sport which will benefit their health.

Like Elizabeth said, help introduce them to a new activity, and to show any boys that riding is not just all girly - it tends to be exciting even for non horsey folk everyone I know who has been loved it regardless of whether they were horsey or not! Can also help teach them something about responsibility, as you could follow it on with a trip to a yard to see how horses were looked after, most kids these days (well, a lot of them anyway) don't seem to have any responisbility or duty, they just sit on a play station or computer! (I have an excuse for bheing on here now aherrrrrm im errr "working")
