My 6 year old is more supple and balanced on the left rein than the right rein. He tends to fall out through his outside shoulder on the right rein and tries to bend to the left. I have been working on this with plenty of circles and spiraling in and out on a circle to encourage him to bend the correct way, I just wondered if anyone knew of anymore exercises which would benefit him?

Any advice much appreciated.

the way he goes on the right rein, tells me that the muscles on the left hand side of his body are not as strong, and are less able to stretch than the ones on the right hand side.

I want to recommend you a book,

'Training with Empathy' By Karen Bignault.

It was a fantastic read and will explain where you need to work to help with this problem.

All exercise that violet suggest will help. Along with counter band (while on the right rein to shorten the stiffer muscle, the stretched muscle will eventually 'ping' back to relaxed state and 'stretch' the stiff muscle.)
