Anybody got any good schooling exercises to help with the above problems? Pony is fairly green and lacking bend (more so on one rein than the other), she is also prone to rushing into fences and poles and either flying over them or cat leaping them. if made to take her time or interefered with too much on approach she runs out or refuses (its not ideal I know to fuss on approach but she goes 100 miles an hour otherwise).
No medical or physical problems- just lack of knowledge, so wanted to pick the brains of everyone on here for good exercises etc

And as for schooling, try loadz off variaty (sp) of excersises such as serpentines, half circles, shallow loops and riding up the centre liine. I would also suggest practising dressage tests where there is set movements to learn and practise. Hope this helps

my instructor has me working my horse in lots of small serpentines with lots of change of direction across the school to get him listening. He is not BHS trained and uses alot of NH methods. He gets me to turn using my whole body and really exaggerating my movements and aids to turn.It really gets my horse bending around my leg and listening well. With jumps it sounds like your horse being green is worried. I have this problem as soon as I introduced fillers to my horse so he has had me working him in circles in front of the jump using the approach to the jump on both reins but not jumping it until he is totally relaxed and listening to me.
