Schooling off the lead-rein

How would you go about schooling a pony off the lead-rein after she is used to being on the lead-rein?

I don't quite understand the question but I sometimes ride my daughters pony or lunge her in side reins.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but I can say that we had to convince our Section A that she could move away from her leader! She needed lots of reassurance that she was doing the right thing, constantly being told she was a good girl.

Do you mean.. the pony has always been a lead-rein pony and now you want to ride/school her without someone leading her?

I would start with someone walking alongside and gradually moving away as she relaxes and her confidence grows... as you might do for lungeing a youngster for the first time.
