My mare is due to come home from being broken-in in 3 weeks. What kind of schooling should i do with her once she's home. I will of course be doing as much hacking as i can on her.
Ask the person who broke her in what they have been doing with her and start with that.
Simple circles and cerpentines, lots of transitions.
If your stuck for ideas learn or ask someone to call a prelim dressage test out for you - even if you leave the canter out.
Don't forget what they say just becasue a horse can do it on one rein doesn't mean he'll automatically know how to do it on the other! Take it slow and if she resists go back to something she finds easy (even if its walking) and then try again even if she only give you a little of what you asked for reward her with a stroke or pat.
