I don't really know what to do with my pony at the moment
He's been getting better and better but over the last couple of months he's been resisting more while schooling (he's fine health-wise, my schooling/dressage but not for dressage trainer is a vet and says he's being difficult, but I can't see her for a while), he's 5 and as he gets stronger, he tries it on more.
He goes through phases - kicking the door, mini-rears/small bucks (v. minor and doesn't do it any more), carrying his head/neck to the left and now it is leaning, particularly on my right hand. Now usually each of these phases lasts about a week then he behaves really well before finding a new technique - but I don't know what to do with this one.
He's heavy but responsiveish to my hand, if that makes sense - he's heavy (feels like I'm carrying him) but if I pulled back (from trot/canter) he'd halt - so how can I make him more even and stop him leaning? Plus he is now poking his nose in canter and so going flat (which is especially annoying because last week we were cantering on the bit, really slowly and he felt all bouncy and collected - he was doing flying changes (single) well too but now he's jarring my back). I'm not sure whether I should stick some loose draw-reins on him for the canter work, or put the gag on him (he jumps in that and goes really well but is being difficult in the snaffle on the flat at the mo).
So help please!
