So, I've managed to volunteer myself to ride a 5yo 11.2 when I feel like it (so erm, most days xD) just to do a bit of schooling work on him. Rode him tonight which started it all off. He knows stop, and he knows go. The rest is a bit of a mystery to him. Just spent a few mins asking him to soften and bring his head DOWN so I actually had control, and flex a bit as he doesn't understand how to bend properly. Did a bit in trot too and he was actually catching on :)

However, it's a long time since I've done any schooling on anything but Dan! I only intend to do about 15-20 mins at a time, as I am well aware that I am about 7 stone, and it's more than he'll be used to carrying and he is young (but he is a welsh, and perfectly capable of carrying me) but I also don't want to bore him.
So, what do you do to keep baby ponies entertained?!

I'm not intending to work miracles, but keeping myself entertained and hopefully educating the pony enough that he wont be quite so confused when small children ask him questions, and make life a little easier for small children too...

So, anything else I ought to consider??

I have a melted wispa to offer if anyone wants it? xD

You could long line him :) I love long lining.

Also you could do some ground work and some spook busting.

Have fun.

Thanks :) Don't want to do too much as he's not mine and don't want to seem like I'm taking over...
Considered normal pole work and also sort of bending between poles etc? Spook busting sounds good too :)
Haven't long lined in forever though!

What you have planned sounds great. I have a 12.2hh light welsh x I wish I could get on and do just that, but at 11 stone I think Im a tad on the heavy side.
Hope you have fun doing it.
