The pony is very young and has probably not been educated as a FR pony but just as a LR, I do think you are a bit too heavy to ride her but also do not think just getting on her to try and calm her down will really solve the issues anyway as soon as the child gets back on she will still be unsure of what is required.
She needs to have a full schooling plan to get her understanding that she can go off the lead, long reining and lunging to get her listening, she may already know how to do this but must learn to be independent and listen to a small rider in order to go on with your son when asked, if you could find a good child, a little older and more experienced than your son, who could get her going it would be less of a step than you doing it and easier for both the pony and your son to move on, some ponies that are excellent on the lead will never make good FR ponies as they just do not suit the job, it is very hard to find one that does LR and FR well.

Please stop with the text talk - it's against the 'rules' and annoying...

l agree with the others - lots of long lining to get her to listen and a more experience jockey to school her. LR ponies off the LR are a bit like riding school ponies who refuse to hack alone.

535lbs is quite heavy? My 14.1 ISH is 525lbs. My 13.2 Cob is 475. My old 12.1 Welsh Sec A was closer 400lbs. You don't say what breed or build - but that seems quite stocky to me!

Working on the presumption that this is a scaled down heavy horse type you probably won't be too heavy once pony is a bit older - 5 is still very young. You might do better with a slightly older light child to help with schooling in the short term. It is a bit difficult to get the sense of your posts through the text speak - sorry.
