My first BE event!
laugh.gif
Doing intro with my horse, Ted, was pretty nervous!
Got there and it was chucking it down, typical - it was lovely at home!
Decided not to wear my beaglar for the dressage, and i was very smart not to! He warmed up really well, he doesn't mind the rain which is good! We were trotting round the outside for our test, and suddenly out of nowhere he did a huge buck!! I just had to laugh it off! Thats just like him! So thats why i was glad i didnt wear my beaglar! He did a lovely test (dressage is his forte
wink.gif
) IMO, he was a bit tense because of the buck earlier - i could barely touch him with my spurs!!
Then onto the showjumping, his weakest! He warmed up really well, really forwards and didnt knock a thing down in the warm-up! But it started chucking down as soon as i went into the arena, and he had 2 down

the ground was pretty bad and i haven't done many courses on him - he jumps better when they're bigger!
We walked the xc course before sj, and it was lovely!! ground was already getting chewed up, but it was still not bad going. Wasn't worried about too much, the trachener (sp!) was a bit scary (my old pony hated them - put me off them!) but everything else looked really inviting. So off we went and did a terrible jump over the first one!! completely missed the stride - we didn't go out of the start box very fast! So got after him a bit, he is a bit lazy! And flew round the course!! Popped the trachener no probs!! and came home clear with no xc time penelties!! So chuffed!!!
Thought i heard the commentator say a 30 dressage when i finished xc, which i was mega chuffed with! until when i saw my sister, that was after my sj.. i got a 22 dressage!!!! :p
and then we won!!!

:D so lots of hugs for my boy!!
Didnt really expect to win, i was just so excited about going!! used to do dressage on my old pony quite competitively, but im glad im into the eventing now, much more laid back and what an adrenaline rush!!!

Can't wait for Oatridge now! im going to do pre-novice there, he can do it no probs, just need to hold on!!
