think you have to be 16 and do a test (cbt?) which is easy.
i had one once and used to get a bag of feed on the footplate!!(was only a mile up the lane though)
No, I'm 30 and recently did mine (last August). You need your provisional licence (for moped - check your car one, might not be on there) to show the instructor then you just sign up for the course.
Trouble is, most of the teenage boys I see everday on scooters clearly haven't learned a single thing about riding them safely, or anything about the highway code. You wouldn't believe how many are running about on machines that are supposed to be limited to 30mph but can easily hit 40. Three guesses whose insurance will have to pay when they hit you though.
