Scotland Saddle Fitters -FIFE

I've had Kay Hastilow in the past, and she did a very good job for my horse.

I've used Kay several times when I lived down there and never had a problem - ring up Central & The Tack Room at Kinross and ask them for recommendations. Alternatively, ring up someone like Liz Jones (mctimoney lady) and ask if she knows of anyone she can recommend.

My saddler (who was president of master saddlers last year or year before) from home has just recommended me Kay for when i move to Scotland. She cant be too bad when she is vice president this year.

Kay gets a good recommendation

I don't think that Jackie at Central is qualified. She is very experienced but not sure what, if any, comeback you would have if there was a problem further down the line.

Stirlingshire get very mixed reviews. Louise and Aileen are the only saddlers that work there, Louise would cover your area.

Lee Valley advertised in Equi-ads and some people I know are clubbing together to get them out to check saddles etc. The plus of them is that they adjust the saddle on site and re-fit it.

Stirlingshire send the saddles away to a saddler so saddler has never seen the horse in question and you get back a saddle that isn't then re-fitted. I don't think Central do adjustments but I could be totally wrong.

It's a minefield. Really short of good people in all spheres.

Second vote for Liz Jones, I think she's a brilliant!

Stirlingshire are great - Alene and Louise both qualified saddle fitters and designed their Patriot saddle made by Ideal. Highly recommend

Hi, I've also only heard good reports about Kay though haven't used her myself. I use Erland at Nimrods, I don't know how far he would travel as I usually go to him, he is brilliant and really thorough.
