Scottish restaurant selling horse meat

Personally I would eat horsemeat as long as it wasn't from my own horse. I don't have a problem with anything being eaten for meat as long as it is kept within correct welfare standards (preferably free range existence) and it is slaughtered humanely. A horse is no different to any other meat animal in my humble opinion. However I have seen a horrendous documentary once about somewhere in Norway or Iceland or somewhere similiar where they farmed horses for meat and the way they killed them was barbaric - they slowly strangled them (the ponies actually did this to themselves in their panic to get away with a rope around their neck). Then the so called humans caved their skulls in with some implement. Very distressing and totally inhumane.
