does anyone know about scottish warmbloods and what is actually in them. mine came down from scotland before i got him but i can't actually work out what other breeds he has in him?? what makes a scottish wb??

i mean scottish sports horse!

The black horse in my avatar and signature is a Scottish Sports Horse Stallion.

The Scottish Sports horse is like any other warmblood or sports horse.
They just talk with a different accent

My boy has Animo, Marco Polo and a little pony in him.

If you give them a call they will let you know what breeding your boy is, they are very helpful.

his father is Goldhills and his mother is Glenauld Flair. related to Marius - grandsire which i am told is good?? he had a bit of trouble talking to the irish tb and the english anglo arab. just need a welsh now...

My stallion's mother is by Goldhills she is called Lune D'Or. Goldhills is by Marius out of a mare called Wideawake who is by Foxstar. My boy's father is Dutch Falco

I would love to see some photos of your boy, what colour is he and how big is he.

Here are some pics of my stallion

If you set up a photobucket account, download your pics on that and then copy the IMG code on to your postings. If you put your curser on the IMG code and left click it will copy the code, then just paste it in your post.

Once you get the hang of it its really easy. You can resize your pictures using the editing tool, so that they don't come out HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!

ok. here they are then... they are all at novice be level. should move up soon! (hopefully!!)
going into the water at longleat shortly before nearly breaking my nose!!

sorry, didnt get to edit them, gonna have to work that out later!!

He is lovely, I love the look on your face jumping into the water

Eventers are either very brave, or need their bumps feeling

Not quite sure which one. I certainly feel alot more comfortable with all four feet on the ground

He definately has the look of his dad, and what a lovely jumping technique.

How old is he.

he is 9. going into the water he half stopped then sprang and switched to a lovely jump in mid air!!! agree we eventers are mad - showed him the pictures of your horse - who is absolutely amazing!! trying to let him know that he should be able to do dressage but he wasn't convinced - he was a pure dressage horse before i got him and it drove him slightly mad so now he hates dressage which can be a bit of a problem. how old is your stallion?? and how did you get a scottish sports horse over there??

Tartan Special (Scotty as he is affectionately known) is now 13 years old.

I bought him as a 9 year old showjumper from, of all places, Wigan

and flew him to Dubai. He was not backed until he was 6, not sure why? and had competed BSJA as well as being graded.

He had only ever showjumped, he has a really super jump. Infact when I did buy him and told his previous owners I wanted him for dressage, they said it was a shame and a real waste of a talented jumper

Little did they know he would go all the way.

He is competing PSG/Inter but works all GP movements at home. He is very sensitive and forgiving, especially with a numpty like me on his back. The second horse in my signature is my drill sergeant so I get it right for when I ride Scotty.

Of all my horses, he holds a special place in my heart, he really is my best equine friend.

Archie was sent from Scotland down to an english sj yard but then was bought by someone who saw his dressage potential. they renamed him as he was called Ally (partner he came down with was McCoist). howver the previous owner was scared of him so he got to be top horse!!. did you not fancy becoming an eventer with a good dresage and sj horse??

I love Archie to bits, so genuine and sweet

The look on your face in the first photo tells my story. If I ever even considered entering an eventing comp, I would never get there as I would be spending all of my time on the loo.

I did, in my younger days (a long time ago), showjump up to grade A, but now I am older and wiser, four feet on the ground is my cup of tea. I also find the challenge of dressage more satisfying, when it all goes right, its so good. Poetry in motion.
