Thanks to those asking to see some recent pics of Scrappy. The name Scrappy has definitely stuck....much to hubbies disgusted. He calls her Mary Valentine. Anyway here is a picture journey of the last 9 months. Every emotion felt, do we keep her or not discussions had, we've been optimistic, we've been frustrated but we've never regretted buying her.

I think my big thing is questioning myself whether I'm good enough to educate her properly, not let her down due to my own limitations health wise, be brave enough to get through her being sour and grumpy and a million other things. But all that said I'm so curious how she will look as an adult horse and its that that's keeping me going I think. Long time to wait I know! Today was a good day...I touched/scratched all four legs and picked all 4 feet up with success and calmness from Scraps! Big shout out for her.

So this was the morning after we brought her home from York...I didn't think she'd survive the journey. She look all fluffy and lovely but under that there was literally nothing but bones and lice. I kid you not!

A few days later, still looking a little lost but loving her buddy Tor. He went back to his owner when I bought Lulu.

Someone is starting to look a little more interested in things. She looks happier too I think!

One man and his horse....with shavings!

This is April/May time...she's still underweight but her lice have gone now and she's eating some good grub. I tried to make sure I fed her little and often so I don't ruin her big joints.

She loves to lie down....every morning after breakfast she's on the deck asap!

She's growing and now has a belly.....woo hoo! I thought she might be grey under all that lot.

September time...and she's bright bay!

I like big butts and I cannot lie! lol

October and the most recent pic I have of her...beautiful in the sun.

So there we are, she's 17 month now! Growing like a mushroom both up and outwards. The difference is unreal when you look back...not so obvious when you're with her everyday. I hope you agree! Fingers crossed I can do her proud as she grows...oh and I'd like to not get bit or kicked either! lol

she is looking great...dont worry about the future, just take one day at a time and do exactly what you are doing now as it is obviously working...a big well done!!

What a stunning girl she's turning into, your cleatly doing something right so well done on turning a lice ridden bag of bones into a beautiful filly and how lovely the pics with your OH are, i wish mine would take such an interest other than just posing for FB :D

Thanks all, it's only when I look back at the hundreds of pics I have of her that I can see how she's changed. Wonder how different she'll be this time next year.

Thanks, it's not been an easy story so far but we're getting there....I hope! She's looking like a wooly bear today....roll on spring. I'll just be happy when I can safely brush her hind leg feathers and pamper her a bit. Simple things and all that! Lol

You're all very kind with your comments. I'll keep you posted how we get on in the next few weeks. We've progressed really well this weekend. Long may that last.
