I've seen these and are intrested in the replies myself.

Soloequestrian - they are soft rubber pads that you can attach to
trees/walls etc, they look great for itching and scratching without rubbing raw!

Got this as a tip from somewhere (probably here!) if you spot a fallen mud flap from a lorry in the grass verge while out hacking or whatever, grab it!
They have a lovely scratchy backside, they make excellent scratch pads for no cost!
We've got one nailed to a tree and the horses love it so much they've practically worn it away. :)

They've been out of stock in Robinsons for months.

I'd love to get them so keep on looking - if anyone knows anywhere else to get them please spill the beans :)

Hi, I can highly recommend scratch pads for your horses, my geilding loves his and has several, try http://www.luckystirrups.co.uk/scratch-pad these are fab, they can have a really good itch without damaging themselves. The pads are really flexible so you can fix them anywhere - I have!

Fox has them wrapped around the door frame on his shelter, this place is particularly good for bum stratches! One on his stable wall, one on top of a post where he likes to itch his face and chin and one wrapped around a post in the middle of his field - he loves them all! The trick is to watch to see where your pony likes to scratch and then fix it there, you can then put more where you like, they soon get the hang of them!

Let me know how you get on.

Prepares to be shot down, I use those plastic 'faux grass' doormats, the horses love them and they've been in the stalls for 4 years, never been chewed or worn away.

I have astroturf doormats attatched to the wall in my stables in an effort to stop Tess demolishing her haybar. The horses both like a good scratch on them and they are less than £10 each. They can assist in brillo pad tails tho but don't do as much damage as the wall was already doing.

:DScratch pads available from luckystirrups.co.uk. Wilma loves hers - I cut one large panel in half and fitted one to each vertical door pillar. She loves to scratch her neck on these. I fitted one to the stable wall, where she loves to scratch her tail and bum. These are excellent for sweet itch sufferers as they can scratch without damage to hair and skin, rather than using walls and doorway. Don't bother with the smaller sizes - not much area to scratch and expensive compared to largest panel, which can be cut in half if required. Use stainless steel woodscrews and stainless repair washers available from Screwfix or Tool Station in conjunction with plastic washers supplied from Lucky Stirrups - much more secure.
